A Mother's Love

As we age, we begin to realize the value of family and the depth of our commitment to each one. No other relationship we form will ever be as deep or powerful as that with our children. Heavenly Father gave me four beautiful children and two wonderful gradchildren and now, I live on through their eyes and smiles. As I come to understand the many talents and characteristics of each one, I come to realize their strengths, wants and desires they have deep inside. Knowing that they are a part of me helps me want to be stronger, more understanding and a person they are proud of. How I love each one.
Sunday is Mother's Day and I truly feel blessed!
Elizabeth Stone wrote. . ."Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." This is exactly how I feel as I hope all is well with each child, now no longer children, but grown into strong and caring adults.
Now, I feel as though we are on equal ground, no longer a mother and child, but companions, helping each other through our sorrows, sharing our joys and learning from our experiences. To me motherhood has reached a higher pinnacle than I could ever have imagined.
